Cybersecurity awareness at AUCA is the second event of the awareness after the one carried out at Carnegie Mellon University Africa. This cybersecurity awareness was conducted on 6th May 2018. It engaged more than 30 participants mostly students, especially from AUCA Cybersecurity Club. Africa Cybersecurity Consortium (ACC) appreciates various representatives from the industry and their continuous support. We also appreciate students and the general public for their attendance to make the event happen.
During this cybersecurity awareness, ACC focused a lot on encouraging individuals, companies, institutions, and organizations to be proactive instead of being reactive as far as cybersecurity is concerned. Being proactive in cybersecurity gives capabilities to defend from cyber incidents instead of waiting the cyber incident occurring and responding afterward.
ACC also had an opportunity to encourage the students and the rest for participating in the upcoming IBM security intelligence engineer training which took place in May 2018 in partnership with IBM and N@tcom Services Ltd as well. ACC initiated this IBM Security Intelligence training across the country to reach more people and the reason why partnering with N@tcom Services Ltd was a strategic approach since it has been in the IT training in Rwanda since 2012.
